Introduction to Rotary Drum Dryer:
The rotary drum dryer is an advanced technology introduced today, consisting of concentric cylinders of different diameters that are nested and combined together according to specific mathematical relationships and structural forms.
The drum dryer can accommodate various fuels such as coal, oil, and gas, and can dry a multitude of materials including blocky, granular, and powdered forms. It aligns with national policies for creating an environment-friendly and resource-efficient society, serving as an eco-friendly and energy-saving alternative to traditional drying equipment.
Based on thermal dynamics principles, the drum is equipped with lifting and guiding plates at different angles and spacings. This structure ensures that the material being dried moves along a spiral path under gravity, maintaining sufficient residence time and dispersion within the drum. This allows for thorough heat exchange between the material and the hot airflow from the combustion chamber, eliminating the defects of small heat exchange area and low evaporation intensity per unit volume often caused by wind tunnels in conventional drying equipment.
Structure of Rotary Drum Dryer:
The special drum structure forms a self-insulating system where the inner and middle drums are enclosed by the outer drum. The heat emitted from the surfaces of the inner and middle drums participates in the heat exchange with the material in the outer drum. Since the outer drum is at the low-temperature end of the hot airflow, the heat loss area and thermal energy loss of the drum are significantly reduced. The energy-saving drum dryer can fully utilize waste heat, reduce heat loss, increase the heat exchange area, and significantly enhance the evaporation intensity per unit volume of the dryer, thereby effectively improving thermal energy utilization, reducing energy consumption, and substantially increasing the thermal efficiency of the rotary drum dryer.
Due to the special structure of the sleeve dryer, the length of the drum is one-third of that of a single-cylinder dryer, and the foundation area is reduced by approximately 65% compared to a single-cylinder dryer, with a corresponding decrease in foundation investment. The dryer uses friction transmission between the supporting rollers and the tire, reducing transmission power and the noise level during operation. The sealing system adopts micro-contact technology for better sealing and reduced dust pollution.
Performance Characteristics of Rotary Drum Dryer:
The rotary drum dryer is designed for materials with moderate initial moisture content, specific gravity, and general fluidity changes during the drying process. It features a compact structure, occupying less space (half the area of a single-cylinder dryer with the same output), reliable operation, low energy consumption, high thermal efficiency, excellent material drying results, and easy automation control with minimal operator involvement.

  1. The investment required for the equipment is one-sixth of imported products.

  2. A new combined material lifting device is adopted to ensure a final moisture content below 0.5%, with easy adjustment of the desired final moisture content according to user requirements.

  3. The drum's self-insulating properties result in a thermal efficiency of over 80% (traditional single-cylinder dryers have a thermal efficiency of only 35%), improving thermal efficiency by more than 40%.

  4. It can accommodate fuels such as coal, oil, and gas.

  5. Compared to single-cylinder dryers, it reduces land occupation by about 50%, civil investment by about 50%, and power consumption by less than 60%.

  6. Made of alloy steel plates, it is four times more wear-resistant than ordinary steel plates, with minimal maintenance required.

  7. The outlet temperature is low, extending the service life of dust removal equipment.

  8. It uses supporting rollers for rotation, reducing transmission power.

  9. The rotational speed can be adjusted arbitrarily to maintain a balance between material, airflow, and coal parameters.

  10. The hot-air furnace can be paired with fluidized bed furnaces, coal injection furnaces, hand-fired furnaces, and is also suitable for oil and gas furnaces. It can dry materials under 20mm in size, including blocky, granular, and powdered materials.
